Organic September has become an annual month-long campaign led by the Soil Association. It is campaign created to encourages people to start make small but smart changes to their product consumption habits and aims to raise awareness of Organic products, and the brands, producers and farmers who bring them to us in the UK.

Organic market is growing:
Press and news websites every year releases articles that more people are buying organic. In the beginning of 2018 report from the Soil Association showed spending on organic products increased by 6% in 2017 what is 2.2bn. And it is only food and drink industry, thanks to home deliveries and independent outlets.

To what pay attention when participating at “Organic September” and not only:
To become officially licensed and use labeling as organic any kind of products must meet strict regulations on how they have been grown and produced. Talking about organic food companies and farms, they are inspected yearly to ensure that they meet the high standards required for organic food under European law.

When you buy Organic products make shore that you see Soil Association or EU leaf logo and it’s because then you can be sure that the products you are buying are genuinely Organic and meets requirements below:
• Produced in a way that is sustainable.
• With no artificial additives or preservatives.
• Contains minimum amount of pesticides. There are only 20 pesticides and are derived from natural ingredients.
• No GMO’s.
• Conform to high standards of animal welfare.

Why you should get involved in campaign “Organic September”:
Would you like to be involved? It is very simple, just look for the organic logo. As Soil Association says if you buy one organic product then it will help contribute to changing our food system. Buying more organic food means more organic farms so fewer pesticides which is better for our wildlife. As well, it means more farm animals raised under higher welfare standards.
